MysticPoets

Welcome to MysticPoets. Here you will find the work of living poets that have been affected directly and deeply by the teachings and experience of non-duality in its infinite expressions.

Beyond this shared background, there is great individuality, both in how the poets lead their lives and in how they express themselves. Some have become teachers in the non-dual tradition, while others pursue traditional (or non-traditional) occupations and roles in the everyday world.

Each poet is represented by a selection of his or her work and by a brief biographical sketch. Contact information and links to publications or website are given at the bottom of each page.

In addition, a new poem will be featured from time to time on this page - a selection that the editors think will interest you, or a submission from a poet not usually represented here.

The poems featured on this site are the choice of the editors, Walter Hettich and Tony Kendrew. They invite you to share your reactions to the poems and to the website by email, and to visit the websites listed on the left.

Thank you for visiting. Namaste.

Your Image

Your image kissed my eyes this morning,
Golden and red as the sun of dawn;
How I was blinded by the sight,
And my heart tumbled over
Like a basket of trembling flowers.

Your image caressed my mind this evening,
Purple and black as the sky of twilight;
How I was drawn upward,
And my soul was opened
Like a universe in mourning.

Your image glowed in my spirit this dream time,
White and clear like perceptible purity;
How I was cleansed entirely,
And my life began anew
In the wealth of your mercy.
